MLU-MentoringSTART

The transition from completing a Master's degree (or other university studies) to entering a doctoral program, along with the initial months as a PhD student, represents a particularly intense period during which roles, expectations, and self-perceptions are reshaped. MLU-MentoringSTART serves as a bridge between these qualification phases and supports aspiring and early-stage doctoral researchers in consciously and systematically stepping into their (potential) new academic role.

Participation in MLU-MentoringSTART offers an opportunity to actively engage with the topic of diversity (diversity training), to promote reflection, and to highlight the open and respectful academic culture of MLU (group mentoring). The program’s goal is to provide (future) doctoral researchers with early access to a reflective understanding of diversity, structural disadvantage, and individual agency within the academic context.

Primary target group (orientation)

The program is aimed at female Master's students from their second semester onwards who are interested in a scientific career, as well as at early-stage doctoral researchers who plan to pursue a career in academic or non-academic research.
